Cottage 14

In earlier days, this Cottage was in another location. It was called the Paper Cottage. We are not sure why. It has a perfect view of the fountain and the lake from its screened-in front porch. There are 2 bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with a bunk bed. There is a sofa bed in the living room for a 5th person.

The kitchen is separate from the living/dining room. There is a terrace with picnic table, gas grill, chaise lounges under a lovely Maple tree.

Mt. Auburn

Mt Auburn cottage used to be called 11 & 12 until we found an old photograph of three women in long dresses sitting out front of this cottage knitting. There was a sign over the porch that read Mt Auburn Cottage, hence its current name.

The living room and fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher is in the middle of the cottage behind the front porch. There are 2 bedrooms on either side sharing a bath. Three of the bedrooms have twin beds and the fourth has a twin and a bunk bed. Therefore this cottage sleeps 9 people. It has a screened-in porch and a brick terrace with picnic table, gas grill, chaise lounges and the view below.

Shepherd Cottage

This cottage is similar to The Gebhardt Cottage in that it has 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms. It has a lovely view of the grounds and lake. The earlier screened-in porch has been made into a living room that opens into the kitchen and eating area.

There is a master bedroom with queen bed and a bathroom with shower. At the other side of the cottage kitchen are two rooms with twin beds that share the second bathroom. There is a brick terrace with picnic table, gas grill and chaise lounges. The lawn is green all the way to the beach.

This is a two-bedroom cottage for a family of 4 or two couples. The main room has a sitting area with table for 4 and well equipped kitchen. The master bedroom has a queen bed with its own entrance to the bathroom. The other bedroom has twins which can be made into a king.

There is another entrance to the bathroom. A screened-in porch also has an eating area opens onto a terrace with picnic table, gas grill and chaise lounges which sit under shady Maple trees. This cottage was renovated in 1998.

Cottage 7 is a one-bedroom cottage with queen bed and a Murphy twin bed for a child or extra person. It has a sitting area, kitchen with stove and small eating area.

The shaded terrace has picnic table, gas grill and chaise lounges.

Cottage 5 is a two-bedroom cottage: One with queen bed and one with twins. The sitting room and kitchen and eating area open onto a screened-in porch that opens onto a terrace with picnic table, gas grill, and chaise lounges under a line of Maples.

The view is of the hotel, fountain and the lake. This cottage sleeps 4 people.

Gebhardt Cottage

This lovely Cottage was built in 1924 for the present owner’s Grandparents. It was renovated and enlarged in 1998. It has a fire place in the living room where there is a large table for more than 6 people; nicely arranged kitchen with stove. It has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths.

The master bedroom with queen bed has a bath with shower and the other two small bedrooms have a bunk and twins sharing the other bathroom with tub & shower combination. A porch extends the entire front of the cottage and views the whole Fountain Point campus to the lake. A terrace with picnic table, gas grill and chaise lounges sit under a row of Maples.

The Barn

Originally constructed as a storage out-building in the early 1880s, this 3-bedroom, 2-bath cottage for 7 is situated next to the Honeymoon Cottage at the “top of the Point” with sweeping views across the grounds and 15 miles down the lake.

The Barn’s interior rough-sawn wood walls and large fieldstone fireplace are especially cozy with living room opening up into a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and dining area with screened in porch. Master bedroom (queen) on ground floor has private bathroom. Upstairs loft bedroom with 2 twin beds and bedroom with 3 twin beds. Outdoor gas grill, chaise lounge chairs and tree shading frame the panoramic view.

Honeymoon Cottage

The Honeymoon Cottage at Fountain Point Resort was originally constructed as an octagonal playhouse in the early 1880s, this one bedroom cottage for 2 is perched at the “top of the Point” with sweeping views across the grounds and 15 miles down the lake.

Complete with new kitchen and new bathroom added in 1998 – the Honeymoon Cottage amenities include separate bedroom with original imprinted tin walls, bathroom and sitting room, kitchen with oven, microwave. Picnic table, gas grill, chaise lounges are under a private shaded outdoor area with best view 100 feet across open lawn to the beach and down the lake.
